Merck Operations & Support Facility

C.T. Wilson was selected to provide pre-construction services and perform the general construction work for this project. C.T. Wilson worked with the owner and architect to develop the project budget and schedule prior to the commencement of the construction phase. This 36,000 sq. ft. office structure included private offices, open office space, a cafeteria, conference rooms, and security. Materials were influenced by the previously existing vaccination production warehouse built two years prior. Corrugated metal and insulated, pre-cast concrete panels allowed for interior finishes to be limited to paint. Strip windows and full-height floor to deck spaces enable natural daylighting throughout. The underfloor HVAC system also hides electrical cabling and data wiring to simplify the overhead systems and expose the structure and deck above. DIRTT prefabricated wall and office systems and Herman Miller furniture finished out the interior space. Functionality, cost-effectiveness, and LEED criteria influenced the overall design. This project also included significant site work.
