Emily Herndon
Emily began her career in the AEC industry while studying Architecture at NC State University, gaining hands-on experience through internships with various firms. After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Architecture in 2013, she joined CT Wilson Construction as a field laborer, quickly proving her dedication and leadership potential. Over the years, she rose through the ranks to become a Project Manager, before transitioning into a full-time marketing role in 2019.
Emily is a committed leader in the AEC marketing space. She is an active member of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) Triangle Chapter and a former regional leader in the South Atlantic Region of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC). In 2021, she furthered her education with a Graduate Certificate in Marketing from NC State’s Jenkins MBA program. Her strategic vision and contributions were recognized in 2025 when she was promoted to Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at CT Wilson. In her current role, Emily leads the company’s marketing and pursuit strategy, branding efforts, budget management, performance analytics, industry research, vendor procurement, communications, event planning, and the overall direction of both marketing and business development departments.
Beyond her professional commitments, Emily is deeply involved in her community. She serves on the Board of Directors and the Development & Engagement Committee for Housing for New Hope, a nonprofit dedicated to helping individuals transition out of homelessness. She also contributes to the Marketing Committee for the North Carolina Minority- and Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) Coordinators Network, supporting economic inclusion across the state. In addition, she serves as a co-leader of the Guest Services team at her church.
