1939

Charles T. Wilson, Sr. graduates from North Carolina State University with a degree in Construction Engineering.

1952

CT Wilson was founded by Charles T. Wilson, Sr. and later incorporated in 1955.

1966

CT Wilson is contracted to build a design by architect Don Stewart, which later becomes home to the Chapel Hill Public Library. In 2016, the new owner, the UNC Arts & Sciences Foundation, hires Charles T. Wilson, III to remodel the historic building led by WFA Architects.

1969

Charles T. Wilson, Jr. (NCSU 1965) returns from the Navy and joins his father in the family business.

1980

Charles T. Wilson, Jr. becomes President of CT Wilson Construction and majority owner.

1993

Charles T. Wilson, III graduates from North Carolina State University with a degree in Civil Engineering specializing in Construction Management. He is accepted into the Graduate Engineering program at the University of Texas at Austin.

1994

Charles T. Wilson, III graduates with a master’s degree in Engineering and is recruited by a construction company in Arlington, TX.

1995

Charles T. Wilson, Jr. creates the Charles T. Wilson Scholarship in memory of his late father. He endows the CT Wilson Construction Association of General Contractors (AGC) Student Chapter fund in honor of his father’s role in founding the student chapter.

1997

Charles T. Wilson, III joins his father in the company business.

2009

CT Wilson named Best General Contractor by Carolinas Associated General Contractors (CAGC).

2013

CT Wilson implements Lean Construction scheduling methods.

2016

Charles T. Wilson, III becomes President of CT Wilson Construction and majority owner.

2017

CT Wilson Construction opens an office in Greensboro, NC at the recently completed Revolution Mill - a 600,000sf multi-million dollar historic, mixed-use redevelopment project that began in 2013.

2018

CT Wilson invests in Building Information Technology (BIM).

2019

CT Wilson hires a consultant, EOS, to develop a strategic company growth plan to maintain the Wilson legacy for generations to come. The new company structure allows for employees to move up to Executive positions within the company.

2022

CT Wilson applies for its first official brand trademark for a refreshed brand message that better aligns with the company’s new direction.
