Craig Herndon
Craig began his career in the construction industry shortly after high school by enrolling in the apprenticeship program at Bryant Durham Electric. While pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management at East Carolina University (ECU), he gained hands-on experience working for a developer building service stations across Durham. After graduating in 1999, Craig joined CT Wilson Construction as a Superintendent.
From 2015 to 2017, Craig broadened his experience by working as an Owner’s Representative and Construction Manager for Dunhill Holdings, a real estate holding company. In this role, he was responsible for managing land acquisitions, zoning and permitting, contractor and designer selection, owner commissioning, and project closeout—giving him a well-rounded perspective on project development from start to finish.
In 2022, Craig was promoted to Vice President of Field Operations at CT Wilson Construction. As part of the Executive Leadership Team, he serves as the field operations representative, overseeing safety, quality control, and all field personnel—from skilled laborers to supervisors and apprentices. He collaborates closely with other executives to ensure projects are delivered successfully, both for the client and the company.
In 2023, Craig led a major workforce development initiative by establishing an in-house apprenticeship training program certified by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). He and several field supervisors became certified trainers to help introduce young talent—especially recent high school graduates—to careers in construction through on-the-job training and mentorship.
Craig is an active member of the Carolinas Associated General Contractors (CAGC) and gives back to the community through volunteer work with the Durham Rescue Mission’s holiday meal supply for underserved communities. He also serves as a lead on the seating team at his church.
